Acceptance committee
The aptitude test is prepared and held by an examination
committee especially appointed by each program.
Aptitude test
Applicants who meet the formal admission requirements are
eligible to take the aptitude test.
The aptitude test is composed of:
1) a preselection process and
2) a practical examination, in conjunction with an oral
examination (held around mid-May to mid-June)
Applicants are preselected, based on the submitted
application materials and preliminary evaluation exercises,
by a committee from the particular program.
Applicants whose work presented for preliminary evaluation
merits their inclusion in the next round are allowed to
proceed to the practical and oral examination.
Applicants considered for final selection will be invited to
participate in a selection process generally lasting one to two
days.
In the practical examination applicants are asked to
independently solve one or more tasks from a list provided
by the University. These may include, in particular, research
assignments, short screenplays, staging exercises, short
films, or the analysis of film and television
productions.
During the oral examination, an individual examination
lasting approx. twenty minutes, the applicant is heard on a
variety of topics. The committee may, for example, choose
to interview the applicant on the results of the practical
examination.
Applicants will receive written notification of exam dates well
in advance of the practical and oral examination.
Applicants will receive a written decision informing them of
the result of the aptitude test.
Any applicant who is unable to appear for the examination
must inform the examination committee in writing without
delay, credibly explaining the reason for the absence. In the
event of illness, the applicant must provide certification by a
doctor. If the reason is accepted by the head of the
examination committee, a new examination date will be
set.
