Division: Television Journalism
Head:
Professor Eberhard Piltz
The main objective of the division Television Journalism is to train politically alert, engaged and qualified young journalists with a high degree of professional, visual and personal competence.
Lectures, seminars and practical exercises introduce students to the craft of journalism. During their main course of studies, they then pursue a specialization and qualify themselves for a career in the varies areas of television journalism.
Students learn to differentiate and critically analyze such formats of television journalism as news, report, reportage and feature.
In practical intensive seminars, they are introduced to the techniques of research, conversation and interview, and moderation. They learn to write copy for their own stories
and films, and to project self-confidence on camera.
Focus projects scheduled during the main course of studies, allow students to specialize in the fields of news and magazine journalism, shoot reportage, create cultural journals, intern in TV studios abroad and gain practical experience in a television newsroom.
The objective of our program is to refine innovative forms of television journalism and equip our graduates with the skills for a successful start in their careers.
