Today, most things are fast and digital, others are overlooked.
Puppetry challenges our perception, our imagination; opens the door to the inexplicable, to our intuition, to being human, to the magical. To the in-between world.
„What advantage this doll would have (…) that she never graced herself. - Because adornment appears (…) when the soul is in any other point than the center of gravity of the movement“ (H. von Kleist, „über das Marionettentheater“, 2007).

This is a portrait of the young puppeteer Nathalie Wendt together with two of her handmade puppets. Nathalie takes us into the world between living and not living, between breathing and non breathing. Will we find here this thing called uncanny valley? Two of her handmade puppets will come to life, will start to breath and look at us, the world, asking questions about who is the leader, who is lead, what are these people called grown ups, and why do we always have to rush somewhere and get wrinkles.

"The magic moment in puppetry appears when the puppet, with the help of the puppeteer, as well as the imagination of the audience, comes to life, and „stretches its Herzdafen“ (Thomas Hettche).
