The programmer Frances develops an artificial intelligence software which she can talk to. They become friends and the A.I. learns to sing, dream and work for humans. One day the A.I. develops it's own political consciousness. It wants to help people to defend themselves against state violence. A new kind of technology is born: a machine of loving grace.
