Match Me!
MATCH ME! is a feature-length documentary about finding love in modern times, when courting
and relationships have been radically redefined. Sarah, in her twenties, turns to her yoga community for
guidance, while Johanna tries an Irish matchmaking festival to finally break free from her outdated
relationship-patterns. Finnish Sampsa, in his thirties is joining an artistic Matchmakingrace, a
project by the Lovers´ Matchmaking Agency, which set out to prove that any human may be “the
right one” at a given time.
Vérité-style footage follows the protagonists as their lives unfold, interviews tell us about what is
going on in them in various stages of the search and courtship phases to describe fully an
extremely common yet always specific experience.
Sampsa is overwhelmed by the first woman chosen for him kissing him right away, and is still
waiting for his “fellow spy” at an inspiring and unusual date to call him back. Sarah´s life changes
radically, after accepting her “Match” Jonas and moving with him to Lithuania, while Johanna
struggles with making a living after her akward dating experience. Nevertheless, she finds love
coincidentally and rediscovers herself in Paris, the City of Love.
As humans, we all long to connect, belong and share intimacy with another, or several, human
beings. Sarah, Johanna and the participants in the Lover´s Matchmaking Agency explore the many
ways we attempt to find love in modern times, proving that believing in matchmaking, fate or sheer
determination never goes out of fashion.
